A Tribute to Fannie Lou from the 1915 Yearbook
"Because of her courage, her cheerful patience, her loyalty to the Crescent, and her enthusiasm in every department and phase of schoolwork and play, Fannie Lou commands our deepest admiration.
Beacause of her empathy for all we feel she holds each of u as a friend. She is never too tired to be glad in our success or to sympathize in our failures. She is truly interested in what we are and where we hope to be. Through knowing her we will each be better fitted to live our lives nobly and well."

Welte Organ

It is called the "Welte Philharmonic Salon Model 4" and was made around 1912. It is 10 1/2' tall, 8' wide, 4' deep. It has about 250 pipes plus percussion (two drums, cymbal).
It is one of three of this model still known to exist. The other two are in museums in Germany and Japan. One of the others was intended for the Titanic and the builder, Mr. Welte, was to accompany it on the maiden voyage, however the organ wasn't done in time so both the organ and Mr. Welte luckily missed that fateful voyage.

War Eagle Mill

Floating down the War Eagle River in Northwest Arkansas in 1832, the first white visitors - 2 bear hunters - were observed in the valley. Today, as the weathered three-story structure comes into view, the smell of fresh ground cornmeal still forms an unending link to our past.
The splash of an 18-foot waterwheel adds to the melody of the river. Inside, the mill stones grind cornmeal daily from organically grown grain.
